Osaka-ya is another nostalgia-inducing place for me! It is a Japanese confectionary shop that practices family traditions and has been in business for nearly 60 years! It is one of the few remaining Japanese manju shops in Northern California. It’s a hole in the wall kind of shop where you order your dessert of choice through a window! It’s part of the experience!
My mom introduced me and my brother to this place when we were younger. My mom’s and my go-to order is the green tea ice cream and my brother and dad get a strawberry shaved ice. It reminds me of a hot summer day and driving to this little shop in my mom’s minivan with the air conditioner turned all the way up.
I consider myself a green tea ice cream connoisseur and I consider this the best green tea ice cream I have ever had! If you are hungry for delicious homemade desserts, definitely check out Osaka-ya!
