The Crocker Art Museum is the oldest museum in the West of the United States and contains one of the earliest Californian art collections. Personally, my favorite collection there is the Wayne Thiebaud exhibition. Thiebaud is one of my favorite artists and he was also a Sacramento native!
I remember when I was in elementary school, my classmates and I went on a couple trips to the Crocker Art Museum. As I have identified myself as an artist and designer throughout the years, I have developed a deeper appreciation for the museum and how lucky I am to be near such a wonderful resource for art.
My friend and I try to go more often now, especially with the ever-changing exhibits and also because it is so big that one visit is simply not enough! I strongly encourage you to go to the Crocker even if you aren’t the biggest art fan. I can guarantee that you will leave with a new perspective!
